Dreams, Goals and Strategies, Part 2 of 3

Last week we spoke about dreams...this week we get practical turning the invisible into the visible with GOALS!

True success is all about working towards meaningful goals and dreams

Start by defining your goals more precisely. Draw up a plan, being as practical as possible. For example, you may want to be a wealthy property investor, but what does that mean exactly? What does wealthy mean to you? How many properties would you need to own to consider yourself successful? Get clear on the details.

It also means making your dreams measureable and time bound. For instance, if you turn “I want to be financially free” into “I want to be earning R20,000 in passive income per month from my property portfolio within the next 5 years”, you’ve made it measurable and time bound. You’ve turned a dream into a goal, which makes it easier to achieve.

Remember to:

  • Write it down

  • Peg it against a timeline,

  • Work back to today so you can figure out what needs to be done.

  • Plan every year, every month, every week and finally, set daily targets.

  • Review your progress on a weekly basis. The time spent reflecting on your progress, or lack thereof, is rocket fuel to your goals.

Use it to propel yourself onwards and upwards – to infinity and beyond!

Tune in next week to get the final piece of the puzzle: strategies!
